WATCH ACTEON'S WEBINAR ON PRACTICAL AND COST-EFFICIENT MOORING AND ANCHORING SOLUTIONS FOR FLOATING WIND

Wind turbine

At present, 235 MW of floating wind energy has been harnessed globally. However, projections indicate an exponential surge to ten gigawatts by 2030. This would call for the deployment of an estimated 667 floating turbine platforms, encompassing around 3,000 mooring lines and anchors and spanning 2,000 km of mooring components.

The sheer magnitude of the equipment required raises questions about costs and scalability for wind farm developers.

This session, presented by Tom Fulton, Head of Renewables and Mooring Development, outlines solutions that can reduce anchor costs for developers. Anchor costs can constitute more than half the price of the mooring system, making it a key focus area for improving the viability of projects.
